ACTIVELY USING FLEXIBILITY POTENTIAL
The energy market never sleeps
EPEX SPOT is the leading European power exchange for short-term trading. Prices fluctuate hourly — sometimes by the minute. For industrial companies with controllable loads, this is not a threat. It is an opportunity.
With an intelligent load management system from WATT INDUSTRIES, you can dynamically couple your electricity consumption to market prices: consumption up when power is cheap. Consumption down when prices rise. Automatic, process-safe, without production interruption.

Balancing Energy
24 hours ahead
On the Day-Ahead market, electricity prices for each of the 24 following hours are determined daily by midnight. The result: an hourly curve showing when power is cheap and when it is expensive.
WATT INDUSTRIES uses this price information as an input for your production planning. Energy-intensive processes — furnaces, presses, pumps, refrigeration systems — are automatically shifted to low-price windows. Not theoretically. Concretely, measurably, with documented savings potential.
Companies with a controllable load share of more than 500 kW can reduce energy procurement costs by 10% to 25% — without omitting a single production step.
Continuous trading
The Intraday market supplements Day-Ahead trading with continuous trading until shortly before delivery. Hourly and quarter-hourly products allow reaction to short-term price spikes or feed-in fluctuations from wind and photovoltaics.
Our system monitors Intraday prices in real time. As soon as defined thresholds are exceeded or undercut, automatic load control kicks in — within seconds.
Prequalification
Those who possess controllable loads and can demonstrably respond quickly may participate in the balancing energy market. Grid operators pay for the provision of primary, secondary or tertiary control power — regardless of whether it is called upon.
WATT INDUSTRIES supports you from the load flexibility proof through technical prequalification to market connectivity.
How it works technically
Our system automatically retrieves the EPEX SPOT price curve daily and creates a schedule for your controllable loads. This schedule is checked against your production requirements, storage levels and legal framework conditions — and then executed.
No manual interventions. No uncertainty in production. Just a system that optimises your energy procurement while your plant runs.
EPEX prices are formed by supply and demand. Wind and sun push prices down — sometimes below zero. This volatility is your lever. The more flexibility you have, the more you can benefit.
On windy weekends or during high PV feed-in, prices regularly fall below zero — you get paid to consume electricity. Our system automatically identifies these windows and uses them strategically.
WATT INDUSTRIES quantifies your individual potential — based on actual historical load profile data and real market prices. Realistic, non-binding, with real numbers.
